HI, I'M NATALIE
I am a global-minded multi-hyphenate native to Hong Kong. I have 5 years of experience working in publishing and digital media. My work has appeared in online and in-print international publications. I write across a range of topics, from lifestyle to politics.
In my free time I like to travel, meet new people in the city and look for the best brunch spots in town.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
I started my editorial career in university when I interned at HSBC (HongKong) and Asia Wedding Network (“AWN”). I created digital content at AWN where I led targeted influencer relations, social media management and strategic partnerships with overseas companies. (Click here for articles published on AWN) Previously, I interned at Hot Press Magazine in Dublin, Ireland which was my first hands-on experience at a printed magazine. I created both digital and print content for Hot Press.
In recent years, I have contributed lifestyle articles to digital magazines in Hong Kong (Hong Kong Madame, Honeycombers etc.). I was part of the Dear Hong Kong project, a photo book that brings to life stories and portraits of people from 80 different countries. I worked on interview transcriptions, proofreading editorial materials and writing stories based on recorded interviews. I was working as a freelance content writer for Sweet Fashion House. My responsibilities included writing product descriptions, press releases, corporate brochures and campaigns. I worked as a brand copywriter for Anonymous Agency where I produced copies and translations across English and Chinese, engaged in campaign planning and researched into branding and marketing strategies.
Apart from my work in publishing and digital media, I worked as a legal assistant at international law firms in Hong Kong for 3 years. My duties included preparing and proofreading legal correspondences, conducting researches and drafting articles that are to be submitted to and published in law journals.
EDUCATION
I earned my BA (Hons) in English Literature from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2019. I spent a semester abroad at Queen’s University, Canada, where I was a contributor at the campus magazine – MUSE Magazine. My award-winning capstone project on Irish music and poetry was published in the Chinese University of Hong Kong English Department's Annual Capstone Journal of 2018.
